Product Description

Annexin-Light is a recombinant conjugate of Annexin V with mNeonGreen, the brightest monomeric green fluorescent protein characterized to date (approximately 3× the intensity of EGFP). Designed for apoptosis detection by flow cytometry and fluorescence microscopy, it delivers sensitivity and reproducibility comparable to international reference kits, at a cost accessible to Latin American laboratories.

The kit uses mNeonGreen to detect phosphatidylserine (PS) externalization, an early marker of apoptosis, combined with Propidium Iodide (PI) to assess plasma membrane integrity.

Local production. Short supply chain. Technical support in Spanish.

Key Features

  • mNeonGreen fluorescent protein: ~3× EGFP brightness, monomeric
  • Dual detection: distinguishes viable, early/late apoptotic, and necrotic cells
  • Compatible with FITC, GFP filters and standard 488 nm laser
  • Entirely produced in Chile — short supply chain
  • Available exclusively for research in Latin America

Assay Principle

In healthy cells, phosphatidylserine (PS) is located on the inner leaflet of the plasma membrane. During early apoptosis, PS translocates to the outer leaflet, where it can be detected by the Annexin-Light reagent. This PS exposure occurs before loss of membrane integrity, allowing discrimination between early apoptotic (Annexin-Light⁺/PI⁻) and late apoptotic or necrotic cells (Annexin-Light⁺/PI⁺).
